The living and kitchen areas are cosy and compact but offer a fabulous place to sit, relax and enjoy the surroundings. With slate floors throughout and high end appliances including a quirky, SMEG fridge and Miele washing machine, the owners have managed to perfectly balance the scales of modern practicality and high end comfort. The bio ethanol burner keeps the room warm and the original stone surround is a real feature. The bedroom is well presented with a double wooden, framed bed and the en-suite bathroom is of a quality hotel standard. To the rear of the property and looking into the garden of the owner’s home, guests will find an enclosed decking area with ample garden furniture and a real ’enchanted garden’ feel. This quaint and popular village sits on the banks of the River Tyne and has a variety of excellent local pubs, restaurants, bistros and cafés dotted throughout. There is an artisan bakers, traditional sweet shop, supermarket and plenty of boutiques and gift shops to explore and enjoy. Walkers and cyclist will find themselves just a few miles away from Hadrian’s Wall and the historic paths and roads that were once walked by the Romans. This is a great opportunity to visit one of the many Roman Settlements and Forts nearby including Chesters, Housesteads and Vindolanda.
