A great place to enjoy a fabulous meal, Corbridge is well known for its excellent quality eateries and guests will find themselves with easy access to a number of excellent pubs, restaurants, bakeries, cafés and bistros. There is also a variety of boutiques, gift shops and quaint little stores for guests to peruse and enjoy. Perfect for walkers and cyclists, guests will find that there are many established public footpaths and cycle ways that lead directly from the village and out into the beautiful countryside beyond. Many of the most popular walks are alongside the banks of the River Tyne which runs through the village. There is a well-loved walk from Corbridge to Hexham which is just over 5 miles away as well as more taxing paths that lead out to Riding Mill or Haydon Bridge. The cottage is also perfectly positioned for walkers wanting to explore the historic scenery of Hadrian’s Wall with its Roman forts and settlements, Vindolanda, Housesteads and Chesters Roman Forts are all approximately 30 minutes drive. Only a 10-minute drive to the market town of Hexham, where guests will find this popular location has plenty of activities for visitors of all ages. The most popular destinations for families are Hexham Abbey and Hexham Old Gaol which are both great to explore at any time of year. This is also a great base for exploring the North East and the surrounding counties. Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead for the Metrocentre, Alnwick, Bamburgh and the cathedral city of Durham can all be reached within an easy hours drive. Cumbria and the Lake District, the Scottish Boarders and the Northumbrian Heritage Coast are also well worth a visit and can all be explored in little over an hour’s drive. Cosy Stone Cottage is exactly as its name suggests – a beautiful, cosy cottage which is perfect for families, couples or friends who like to holiday together. On the ground floor is a well presented living room with a traditional wood burner for those romantic evenings. The kitchen/dining room is spacious and contemporary with fitted units and a dining table and chairs. The shower room is located on the ground floor too and boasts a large shower cubicle. On the first floor guests will find a super master bedroom with kingsize bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. To the rear of the property is a small garden area with a table and chairs. Shop, pub and restaraunt 250 yards. Please note as from the 29th October 2018 the property no longer accepts pets. However there may be bookings in place that have pets and these will be honoured, the last of the existing booking departs on 11th November 2019, and so the property can't be classed as pet free until after that date.
