Looking as if it's always been part of the rugged hillside in the exclusive gated community of Pedregal near Cabo San Lucas is Villa Thunderbird. The architecture is at once modern and also traditional, with white walls, terracotta roof tiles, curves and arches reminiscent of the hacienda.
Everything about the six-bedroom villa blends in with and perfectly complements its rocky, earthy surroundings. And with spectacular views over the vibrant blue waters of the Sea of Cortez, the picture of a coastal dream retreat is complete.
These scenes are made clear by huge windows and glass sliding doors in Villa Thunderbird's characterful main living space. It also reflects the exterior with a tiled, vaulted ceiling and whitewashed walls and columns. A particularly unique feature is the fire pit, with cosy evenings on the sofa and at the dining table guaranteed.
The light décor and use of natural shades makes the villa feel welcoming throughout, with typical Mexican prints and crafts adding authentic touches. Rivalling the views from the living spaces are four of the six ensuite bedrooms. Each one boasts a king-size bed and terrace for waking up to paradise every morning.
Several of the bedrooms are on the lower level and are joined by a lounge area with fully-equipped kitchen. This essentially creates a self-contained floor for a couple, two couples or a small family group to enjoy extra privacy.
