Chained Heart Cottage is a converted milking parlour attached to the 17 th century Manoir De Bodion.This is a spacious cottage offering a high level of comfort and convenience to make a self catering holiday enjoyable any time of the year. It is set in 6 acres of private and peaceful grounds of mainly wooded lawns bordered by mature oak and sweet chestnut trees. There is ample space to accommodate all tastes from peaceful reading and sunbathing to boisterous ball games. There are swings and slide for the younger children, badminton court , trampoline and the games room.
You can spend the day relaxing in the garden in a sunny or shady spot with a glass of wine while the children play in the pool, on the trampoline ,in the games room or playing ball games in the secure garden.
Or after an active day on the beach, at the Adventure Forest, visiting the zoo or many other local attractions you can take a refreshing dip in the pool before you light the barbecue and enjoy a relaxing evening. The games room with billiard table, table tennis, Table football and air hockey games will keep adults and children alike busy until supper is ready!
The 12 x 6 m pool is heated from the mid May to mid September and is set in a landscaped garden enjoying sunshine all day.
The pool is shared with the two other properties on site, Bishop's well and Chained Heart
Garden furniture and barbeque are provided too.
Each cottage at the manoir has a private barbeque and patio, not overlooked.
Chained Heart Cottage can also be rented with Bishops Well and The Coach House to accommodate 22 people. perfect for family reunions and large groups enjoying a holiday together. A log fire and central heating makes this an ideal location for Spring and Autumn breaks. The accommodation sleeps 8+ in four bedrooms. It consists, on the ground floor, of a spacious American-style well-equipped kitchen lounge/dining room featuring an attractive stone fireplace and master bedroom with en-suite bathroom (bath/shower) and washing machine. Upstairs there is a double and a twin bedrooms and a third airy bedroom with 3 "lits coins", traditional carved Breton beds. There is a shared upstairs bathroom with shower cubicle.
.Our friendly village of Plumeliau is only 4 kms away for fresh bread and croissants for breakfast. You can eat at the highly recommended creperie and pizzeria LA FORGE (open Sunday) and several cafes and bars. There are a variety of shops just 10 kms away in Pontivy, and a wide choice of restaurants and bars.
St Nicholas des Eaux on the Blavet valley is a short drive away where you can hire bikes and kayaks to explore the towpath and river.
This is an ideal location too for exploring this beautiful part of Brittany, just 45 minutes from the coast and lakes and many interesting activities and places to visit.
There is Cycling for all stages from the gentle towpaths beside the Blavet river, through quiet country lanes and villages to the more exacting marked trails. Bicycles are available to hire locally.
