Summary: The stay was great, the place is wonderful with an amazing design and very calm. Beautiful view on the lake and great food. We were very content with everything. Unfortunately, then we had a bit of a bad aftertaste - during the stay we wanted to pay but the service informed us it was already paid. We didn’t think much about it since we don’t track every 100€. After check out they messaged us that it wasn’t paid after all - I checked it and it was true. I of course agreed to transfer the money within the next few hours. We made the transfer as agreed and went to sleep, putting the phone in sleep mode. In the morning I woke up to messages from the property and Expedia (who handles Hotels.com bookings) that the property requested to charge my card and I should contact them urgently. Made us feel like fugitives, even though the misunderstanding was caused by their mistake. More patience and respect would have been appreciated.
