Explore the neighbourhood and enjoy this unique part of Cascais. I hope you enjoy your stay! # Space My stylish 1 bedroom apartment is the perfect base when visiting Cascais. Conveniently located between Lisboa and Cascais and with good transport links (train), you’ll be right in the hub of the city but able to escape the hustle and bustle! The living area is light and airy with a beautiful, modern design and lovely finishing touches. Relax on the sofa, hang out with your friends, make yourself at home! It’s a welcoming and inviting space where you can kick back. The sofa is suited for two small children or small adults, but please bear in mind the apartment capacity is set at a max of 3 guests because the hot water tank has limited capacity and will not allow for 4 people to comfortably shower with hot water. If cooking is your thing, you’re going to love spending time in the small but stylish kitchen. All the appliances are modern and easy to use - you’ll enjoy showing off your culinary skills here! The master bedroom has a super comfortable double bed and, with fresh luxury linens, what more do you need for a good night’s sleep? You'll have a single sofa bed in the living room, where one person can sleep. Freshen up in the lovely bathroom - wake up in the mornings with the fantastic shower. My property will be professionally cleaned before your stay. # Access You will have the whole place to yourself. We will provide you with the basic supplies for cooking and shower. The whole place is available. You may occasionally hear noise from neighbouring apartments, as most buildings in Lisbon aren’t soundproofed! # Interaction My friends at Hostmaker are looking after my home while I am away; they are a short-lets management service team who know Lisbon like the back of their hand! If you have any questions about your stay, please get in touch through the channel platform. # Neighborhood Located roughly 15km to the west of the center of Lisbon, the beautiful seaside neighborhood of Parede is the ideal area to retreat to for relaxation, sunshine, and golden sandy beaches. The area is a hotspot for leisure activities, watersports and relaxation, with surfing on the often tricky Atlantic waves a real highlight. The word Parede translates from the Portuguese for ‘wall’, because the waterfront beaches are backed by an old stone sea wall and at high tide, the golden sands are all but covered up and people regularly sit on the wall, catching fish and conversing. It’s not just beach lovers who will be impressed with Parede, as fans of art can enjoy a trip to the Luchapa Gallery, which houses beautiful works by local and international artists. When it comes to finding a great place to eat out, Parede and the surrounding coastline has a number of excellent choices. A Pastorino is a Michelin-starred seafood restaurant with views over the Tagus and out towards the Atlantic. Os Arcos is a beautiful rustic dining room serving local seafood, and for more modern fare, try the sunset terrace at Casa di Dízima. For an evening drink, try Sargo Bar on the beachfront for a delicious cocktail overlooking the Tagus and the Atlantic as the sun goes down. # Transit Close to the apartment is the train station of Parede, part of Cascais urban railway. From the airport, you can take the subway to Cais do Sodré train station and then the train to Cascais and get off in Parede. There is also the Aerobus from the airport to Cais do Sodré. Be sure to buy a zapping card even if you take a taxi from the airport. You can use it on your day trips into Lisbon and on the metro. There are bus services between Lisbon and Cascais, but the journey times are longer, and the main bus station is not as conveniently located at the train station. Therefore, the recommended means of travel from Lisbon to Cascais is by train. # Notes - The flat capacity is for 3 people, no additional guests allowed. There is a single sofa bed in the living room. - Check-in and keys: please note there will be a €25 fee for check-ins before 8 am and after 10 pm, and guests will be charged €40 for lost keys or lockouts. - Hot water: the water heater has limited capacity. Once the hot water runs out, it will take some time for the water to warm up. - Electricity: It is fairly common in Lisbon for the electricity to trip if more than 2 high wattage electrical appliances are being used at the same time. Guests are advised to keep this in mind when using appliances like heaters, washing machine, hairdryers, toasters, fans, etc, and there will be a €40 charge in case of electricity trips due to overuse. Most homes in Portugal don’t have central heating or air conditioning, heaters and fans will be provided. - City tax and ID: Government mandated city tax of €2 per person per day (except children under 12 years), will be charged to you at check-in and your Govt ID will be collected at check-in for submission to the authorities as required by local laws. Please note city tax is only applicable for a maximum of 7 days continuously, we do not accept cash. - Finally, please be eco-friendly and turn off all the lights and electrical appliances (such as heaters and fans) when you leave the apartment!
