Unwind at this contemporary rustic creekside cottage on a 10-acre private land with Benson Creek running through the property. The house is fully remodeled with all the comforts of home. Located on a quiet road off the Mountain Loop Highway yet it's only a few minutes away from many popular hiking trails, such as Lake 22, Heather Lake, etc.
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION AND HOUSE RULES CAREFULLY. Once a booking is made it implies agreement to & adherence to my House Rules.
This house was loving built with high-beamed ceilings, and beautifully decorated for a warm yet charming feel. Bring your favorite food or dishes to cook and share with your friends and family in this fully equipped upgraded kitchen. Enjoy your morning coffee on either one of the two decks while listening to the sound of birds chirping and the creek flowing. And cozy up in the living room with the Pilchuck mountain view right through the windows. The Benson Creek is just a short walk away in the back of the house.
The house has two bedrooms and loft and can easily accommodate 7 guests. The bedroom #1 has 1 queen-size bed and the bedroom #2 has a twin-size bed with trundle. The queen bed comes with a mattress topper, which is covered under mattress cover and can be easily removed if it's too soft for you. Entertain in the cozy loft with a portable projector and screen on a tripod, and a sofa that is made of two stackable twin beds. The stackable beds can also be easily unstacked and put side by side as a queen sized bed or two separate twin beds of your choice. A trifold sofa bed for your comfortable sitting and sleeping with 5 convertible positions.
There is also a foldable crib in the closet in the twin-bed bedroom. In the same closet, you will find the rolled foam mattress for the crib and clean sheets in the storage box (please take one flat sheet and leave other as clean in there). There is a foldable highchair with tray in the little closet space near the sliding door to the patio.
There are two bathrooms. The one on the second floor is smaller with standing shower. The one on the first floor comes with the tub and shower and the sauna is in the back. Relax and soothe up, especially after a long hike.
Enjoy the entire house, but be sure to spend some time outside at the firepits. There is one in the front of the house and the other one by the creek. A firewood stocked shed is ready for your fireside chats, and kids favorite s'mores. Please be kind to the amount you use. We have a charcoal grill available in the shed for your use also. Please note that charcoal will be on your own. The nearest store that may carry charcoal is in downtown Granite Falls, which is about 15 mins one-way. Strongly recommend to get some on the way to cottage. There is a lighter and used newspaper for you to start fire. In case the lighter goes out, please bring your own.
If you need laundry done, there are washer and dryer in the attached garage/game room. Also, Ping Pong, cornhole, and Milkky are available for year-round fun.
Please NOTE:
This is a pet-friendly property. If you intend to bring your four-legged friends, please inquire prior to your booking. We only allow dogs for now. Sorry for the inconvenience in advance. There is a $50 non-refundable pet fee that will be charged to your reservation. We appreciate if you can provide the following info: age, size, breed, and number of pets in the inquiry. Pets are not allowed on the furniture and beds. Failure to follow this house rule will result in a $300 additional charge. We will provide pup's bed, waste bags, a double pup bowl, pup wipes, and clean pup towels. Please bring your pup's kennel or toys for their comfort.
ON-PROPERTY SECURITY CAMERAS: Four outdoor security cameras are installed on each of the corners of the house for the protection and video surveillance purposes. The security cameras will NEVER observe the inside of the house. Cam 1: corner of front door monitoring the front door. Cam 2: corner of the side wall monitoring the side window. Cam 3: corner of the side wall monitoring the back door. Cam 4: corner of the other side wall monitoring the staircase to deck. All are Ring cameras on duty 24/7.
SEPTIC SYSTEM: Please deposit nothing but toilet paper in the toilet. There are small trash cans in both bathroom for other disposals.
INTERNET AND PHONE SERVICE: Please note that the property is in a rural area that it has only satellite internet connection with slower speed and less stable than what you're used to. We recently upgraded the satellite internet to Starlink. The Starlink Dishy is securely mounted on deck railing post. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS AND DON'T TOUCH IT. Due to the tall trees near the house and causing the partial obstructions, you may experience sporadic outages. The internet speed is still pretty decent about 30-70 Mbps, which could be good enough for average internet use, like video streaming or music, but it is less ideal for long-hour conference video calls due to the outages. After being installed in late May, I'm still in the process of tuning it up and figuring out the best spot for the lower interruptions. We utilize the same satellite internet system for our land line phone and for you to connect your cell phone for Wi-Fi calling and texting. There are three phones on the property - living room, inside of the garage, and the outside of garage on the wall (for emergency contact use). There might be occasional power and satellite disruptions from inclement weather. The nearest payphone is at the Mountain Loop Highway General Store about 2 miles away.
SMART PROJECTOR: The projector is running on an Android TV system. We also connected it with Amazon Fire TV stick for more entertainment options. The projector can also be easily hooked up with your devices via HDMI cable (provided). Due to the slower internet connections, it is best to download your favorite shows, movies, and music to your devices prior to your arrival.
STOCKED KITCHEN: The house includes a full-sized refrigerator, electric range with oven, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, tea kettle, essential utensils, dinnerwares, and a range of basic needs like cooking oil, salt and sugar.
NEARBY GROCERIES: The Mountain Loop Highway General Store is about 5 minutes away for the basic grocery needs. Granite Falls city is 20 minutes down the road for more options.
Additional rules:
**Pets are not allowed on the furniture and beds. Failure to follow this house rule will result in a $300 additional charge through Airbnb Resolution Center.
**No use of illegal substances on the premises.
**No unregistered guests allowed. The presence of non-confirmed guests will result in immediate cancellation by Airbnb and termination of your stay.
**Any guests beyond the number listed on your itinerary will be charged a penalty at $80 per person per night. We reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund if you exceed the maximum occupancy (7 guests).
**Check-in is after 4 PM, and please do not show up early, as it makes it hard on our cleaners to get the house ready. Checkout is before 11 AM, and late checkouts (maybe with a small late fee) are granted per mutual agreement before check-in.
** There is a staircase from the front door entry to the second floor living room. And there is a steep staircase to the loft from the living room. Please use it with caution. No child under 12 years old allowed to climb the stairs without adult supervision
Safety alerts:
The area is known to have bears, cougars, bobcats, deers. Neighbor's friendly dogs may come by sometimes.
