Positive: This is a magical place to witness the beauty of the region. Staying at Casa d' Alem is an EXPERIENCE. The house has an old-school elegance, and it is clean and overall comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is refreshing for those hot afternoons, and the view will leave you speechless. The breakfast was tasty and satisfying (coffee, fresh juice, breads, meat, cheese, jams, fruit, yogurt, cereal). The small touches were really lovely, such as fresh cut flower arrangements and having the beds turned down at night. Though we didn't have a car, it is still accessible by train to Regua, then a 15 euro taxi ride up, up, up. We stayed 2 nights, and could have stayed at least 1 more! Our host and the other staff were incredibly kind, helpful, accommodating, and thorough. Thank you!
Negative: We would order dinner next time! There's room for improvement with the pillows. Also, our room was by the dining room, so it was a little loud in the mornings.
