It's a happy place! A joyful feeling and sense of well being emanates from abundant natural light throughout the home through five mini-sunrooms and a full width wall of windows on each floor. High ceilings, amazing flow from large pocket and French doors.
Created for a university tech R&D specialist who does much of his creative, analytical work at home, wanted private work space for himself - and the same for each family member and guests: Private work, study and play spaces - every bedroom opens to a mini-sunroom, so everyone has more than just a bedroom and bath. These spaces can also be used for additional socializing, so people are not confined to a living room.
The location is a very significant element. Located on a small, private island with just 300 homes, the island association owns a private, sheltered, charming harbor beach and two bay front parcels for use by homeowners and guests. No commercialism, tourism on the island.
Bucolic, quiet, serene . . . yet all the buzz and action of the Jersey Shore is just over the island bridge.
This location affords multiple, convenient beach opportunities that include the harbor beach and bay parcels, an extraordinary one mile bay front that begins at the foot of the island bridge and of course the expansive ocean beach with non-commercial boardwalk.
Having several different kinds of beaches provides so many more recreation opportunities and scenic experiences than just having access to an ocean beach. There is also a municipal outdoor recreation center on the bay front including tennis, pickle ball, basketball, volleyball and a long pier for fishing and crabbing. The bay front beach also includes lifeguarded swimming beaches and a playground for children.
