Negative: With all due respect to the staff — who were genuinely cordial, friendly, and a real highlight of the stay — the hotel itself is a let-down. You expect a four-star experience, but what you actually get is closer to three stars, with only a distant memory of the real four stars this hotel once was worthy of. There is visible effort in maintaining the property, but it stops there. It lacks the investment and care to modernise, refresh, or live up to the star rating it still manages to hold on to. The breakfast is the perfect example. The bread was excellent, but almost everything else felt below standard, with the quality of the products no better than a low-cost supermarket brand. Variety was very limited, and compared to any other four-star hotel in the Algarve, it was a real disappointment. Ultimately, the low rating here reflects expectations not being met. If this hotel had been listed as three-star, it would have aligned far better with reality. As for the room, the same impression continued: it felt like a tired business rather than a thriving one. The décor, colour scheme, and bathroom appliances all carried the atmosphere of survival rather than life. Even the flowers and plants in the garden echoed this sense — more tired existence than blooming vitality. To sum it up: Staff: 10/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 Everything else: unfortunately, no more than 5/10.
