This charming cabin is tucked away near the quiet mountain town of Newland, yet conveniently located near many High Country activities and attractions. Linville Falls and Linville Caverns are within 25 minutes to the South, with Grandfather Mountain State Park, Banner Elk, and Sugar Mountain just 25 minutes to the North. Beech Mountain, Boone, and Blowing Rock are within a 45-minute drive, and the popular Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing Park is 17 minutes from the cabin.
A Red Chalet provides a bright, cheerful space with tasteful mountain modern touches. The main level open floor plan includes a gas fireplace and TV, a cozy leather sectional couch, an elegant kitchen, and dining space that accommodates 12 guests. There are air hockey and shuffleboard game tables located on the sunny main level, plus a wood stove for supplemental heat. Plenty of windows let in the natural light and draw your eyes to the lovely mountain views. Outside is a spacious deck, gas grill, and a wood-burning fire pit. Need or want a few minutes to yourself? Enjoy the quiet meditation bench, mountain air, and the view.
The master suite on the main level has a king bed, a large flat-screen TV, and a private ensuite bathroom. Downstairs is another cozy king bedroom with a desk and seating area next to a large window letting in the light. The third bedroom has a queen over queen bunk bed and a king bed. Each bedroom has an HDTV for guests to stream favorite shows and movies.
Central heating and air conditioning, a washer and dryer, and Wifi will provide all the comforts of home. There is parking for 3 cars below the house, with beautifully built wooden stairs leading up to the front entrance. This cabin is not pet friendly.
*In Winter Weather, 4WD and Tire Chains are a must-have! Will Robbins is a privately-maintained dirt and gravel road. Snow and ice can last a long time on parts that are heavily wooded and don't get much sunlight. Also, the driveway is uphill and can be tricky during winter weather or wet conditions.

Summary: Red chalet is a beautiful staycay with wide open space and window views. The kitchen was very spacious with plenty of dishes and essentials. The sink kept clogging, but we were able to fix it after realizing a rock had been clogged in the pipe. There were no plungers throughout the entire cabin, but we managed. There were no curtains for any of the living room space, but because the cabin is so hidden there is no need for curtains. The huge coffee pot was amazing and we used it literally 24/7. The location of the cabin is not on any GPS at all. We did try on four different phones and still the location never popped up. When we first arrived we ended up at the wrong cabin and the guy did mention that his cabin pops up for all the travel renters for the red challet. Surprisingly no reviews on red challet when we've heard this place has been rented numerous times. The parking is beyond steep that 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive is a must. Our family is from Florida and we didn't realize how steep the parking was till we got face to face with the parking lot ourselves. We had a family of 8 with plenty of room to hang out and sleep. We did get snowed in twice, but it was so worth it. The kids sled down the driveway and played on the hills for hours. The air hockey table was a huge hit and we all got a ton of play time on it. Location was great for everything we wanted to do, but if you don't have an all wheel drive vehicle during winter weather. Please do not chance it ! Thank you red challet, it was an experience that my entire family will cherish forever.
