Dovecote - a norton grounds that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms | House in Aston-Sub-Edge

3 Bedroom House in Chipping Campden, Aston-Sub-Edge
The entrance to Norton Grounds takes you down a long drive, flanked by vivid green fields, setting the stage perfectly for your arrival. Dovecote forms one edge of the rear courtyard and is an elegant blend of old meets new. A sleek glass walkway runs the length of the barn giving a glimpse of the traditional building behind, whilst the fully restored dovecote immediately draws the eye skywards.
As you walk through the door you step into the vaulted dovecot, soaring high above you, the original beams and brickwork providing a truly unique setting for what is now the living room. The high-ceilinged kitchen-diner is a stylish, light-filled room with exposed wooden beams and plenty of space for entertaining. Along the glass walkway to your left are the three light and airy ensuite bedrooms. The Dovecote offers a very special and unique place to stay in a rather lovely location.
Outside, there is lots of space to relax in the courtyard and enjoy your surroundings. Cook up something fabulous on the barbecue and then gather around the fire pit as night draws in. Forming part of the 120-acre Norton Grounds Farm you are surrounded by enchanting Cotswold countryside with sheep, horses, and chickens as your neighbours. You'll find herbs in your garden and around the farm, birdfeeders, bat boxes, beehives, and lots of flowers.Ground Floor
Entrance Hall:
Step through the door into the striking glass-walled walkway. To your left, the bedrooms and to your right, a space which houses a coat rack, log basket and bench seating, where you can just relax and enjoy the warmth of the sun. The space also lends itself perfectly to indoor games in the event of inclement weather.
Living Room:
This is arguably one of the most striking living rooms you will see. Set in the original dovecote, the vaulted ceiling is lined with row upon row of original boulins (pigeon holes) and rises skywards with dramatic effect. The white walls and polished flagstones are the perfect foil for the unique feature above your head. A stylish wood burner fills one corner, perfect for when the night is chilly, although the stone floors are warmed by underfloor heating. Comfortable two and three-seater sofas sit at right angles to the wall-mounted Smart TV and Bluetooth soundbar along with an armchair. Occasional tables with reading lamps are set at either end of the sofas and there is a sideboard beneath the TV where you'll find a selection of board games. An upholstered ottoman sits in the centre of the room and there's even a workstation with USB ports squeezed into a little nook. The monochrome colour scheme of neutral shades does not detract from the distinctive element above you.
Kitchen/Diner:
This spacious room is light and airy thanks to a beamed, vaulted ceiling and windows that look out into the glass walkway. A wooden farmhouse table comfortably seats eight with two three-seater benches on each side and two chairs. The pale kitchen units add to the feeling of space and the central island, with its two milk churn stools, is the perfect place to perch and chat. A triple pendant light hanging above adds to the modernity. Secreted away behind the clean lines of the units you'll find a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, and a washer dryer. There's also a large wine cooler (wine not included!) and a Nespresso machine for your morning coffee fix. There are two storage cupboards along the back wall and a cloakroom.
Bedroom One:
This spacious room features a white timber-framed king-size bed with crisp white linen and monochrome throws and cushions. There are nightstands on either side of the bed with reading lamps and a thick, soft carpet underfoot for cosy toes. The original beams of the barn are overhead and there's a walk-in wardrobe with plenty of storage.
Ensuite:
Behind a feature sliding timber door, you'll find a stylish bathroom with half panelled walls and a double-ended clawfoot bathtub with a handheld shower and a bath tray, perfect for resting your book, a coffee or if you're feeling indulgent, a glass of bubbly. The vanity unit houses the handbasin with a mirror and shaver point.
Bedroom Two:
The second of the bedrooms is a reverse of the first, with a black timber framed king-size bed, made up with soft linens. The room is also furnished with twin bedside tables, reading lamps and an occasional chair. The wooden overhead beams are a reminder of the barn's heritage and the timber sliding door reveals the stunning ensuite bathroom. There's lots of storage with a walk-in wardrobe.
Ensuite:
This stylish shower room features dark timber-effect tiles on the walls and a spacious walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead. There is also a W.C and a handbasin with mirror and shaver point.
Bedroom Three:
This tasteful twin room can be made up as a king bed if required (please request this at the time of booking) and features soft linens and a grey and white colour scheme. There are two nightstands with reading lamps and a large, mirror hanging behind the bed. Plenty of storage comes courtesy of the walk-in wardrobe.
