Positive: The location is stunning and the building itself has been restored really well. The main kitchen/ living area is great for entertaining a large group. The enclosed garden is a safe space for children and dogs. The beds were comfy apart from one. The decor and furniture is tasteful
Negative: It felt very unloved. There were cobwebs around the doors and windows. The garden furniture was dirty and strewn around the place. One of the outside spaces was overgrown with nettles. The main bedroom cupboard was rammed full of stuff including a Christmas tree so we had to empty it in order to hang clothes up. One of the single bed mattresses was very uncomfortable with a big hole in it. This has been mentioned on other reviews and not been replaced. Little things like providing washing up cloths and coffee pods would have been nice. One tea towel for 7 people over 3 nights is not enough. The freezer was dirty with the remnants of some melted ice cream. It’s a shame because one of these things is acceptable but all together left us feeling we had been ripped off especially having to pay a £200 cleaning charge for our stay!
Summary: Overall enjoyable but it’s far from perfect for the price!
