This romantic getaway for two or retreat getaway for one with gas log fireplace and outdoor fire pit, fenced back yard, kitchen, cozy living room, separate bedroom, and washer/dryer is a deal you can't pass up.
Located in a multiracial, rural, multi-cultural, diverse income community, the Bear Nook is filled with everything you need for a wonderful vacation. We chose this cottage in support of the intentionally diverse community initiatives throughout the mountains. If this cottage was in a high-end neighborhood, rest assured, the cost would more than double. The cottage has side B, the Bear Nook and side A, the Bear Den. Each side has a separate driveway/parking area and a separate fenced back yard that includes a small deck, gas grill and outdoor firepit.
The Bear Nook has a kitchen stocked with all equipment needed to prepare gourmet meals, including K-cup/pod and automatic drip coffee makers and coffee grinder. The private bedroom includes a comfy queen bed, and closet. There is a washer/dryer to keep your travels light and clean. The living area has a gas-log fireplace, double recliner couch, dining set, large flat screen Smart TV, and Spectrum high-speed internet. The back yard is fully fenced with a small deck, bistro table, and firepit area.
There is contactless check-in and check-out. A lock box is used for property access. We pay very special attention to cleaning and hope that you will notice our efforts.
We are located 10 miles west of downtown Asheville and only 11 miles from the Biltmore House & Gardens. The Blue Ridge Parkway at Mount Pisgah is 12 miles, and the airport is 15 miles.
Jeff, the cottage owner, is a plumber by trade. He and his wife are very excited to offer an affordable, safe, and clean place to stay in the mountains of Western North Carolina. There are no parties, no smoking inside, no children, and no pets allowed.
This is a romantic getaway for two or a retreat getaway for one. If you are looking for a log cabin with a mountain view, this is not for you. If you do not mind that there is a mobile home park across the road, come stay with us---we would love to have you as our guests.

Mountains-to-the-Sea trail is 12 miles from cottage intersecting Pisgah Hwy (Hwy 151) & Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 405. Many other trails can be accessed from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Enjoy trying new beers? Asheville has more breweries per capita than any other city in the U.S. with more than 50 breweries and approximately 100 local beers for you to taste and pick your favorite. If you prefer ciders, wine, or cocktails, Asheville offers those choices, as well.
Are you a foodie? Asheville has numerous restaurant choices to satisfy your tastes and your search for a new dining experience. Love art? Asheville has a fantastic and diverse art scene. The River Arts District (RAD) is home to 270+ working artists and is within 20 minutes.

Enjoy great day trips to explore a small, quaint mountain town filled with unique shopping, locally made arts & crafts, and dining experiences? West is Waynesville, East is Black Mountain & Chimney Rock, Southeast is Hendersonville & Brevard, and North is Weaverville.
Want to see free-range Elk? Go about an hour or so West to Cherokee and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
