Built in 2016 and extremely clean. This is a great place to stay for all seasons. Our home is in a spectacular setting with pristine views, modern amenities and beautiful, yet comfortable décor. Whether you want a romantic getaway for two, if you want to bring the family, or have a couple’s getaway or extended family get together our home offers you all the room of a large a spacious home with all the fun of a vacation getaway. The home itself is inviting and cozy. The outdoor spaces can be peaceful and relaxing and can be a lot of fun for a group up to 10 who enjoy lake life, bonfires, and all types of outdoor fun (golfing, hiking, snowmobiling, off-roading, boating, etc.). We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.
This vacation home is set back from the road and nestled in the trees on a very secluded lot. We have our own private sandy beach on all sports Cedar Lake. The lake is 6 miles long and our home is located at the south end in a tranquil bay across from a treed peninsula. If you have a boat, you can launch it at the Cedar Lake state boat launch and pull it up to shore. We are located less than 5 minutes from the Lakewood Shores Golf Resort and within 5-30 minutes from hundreds of trails for hiking, riding, off-roading and snowmobiling in the Huron National Forest.
The house is equipped with a large kitchen, an island in an open floor plan, which is great for entertaining a small crowd. We have most items you need to cook including a microwave, griddle, toaster, coffee pot, pots, pans, utensils, etc. There are three full bathrooms with lots of space and the master bath has an air bubble soaking tub that is great for relaxation in the cooler months. We have WIFI and three TVs where you can access internet accounts such as Netflix. We have a flagstone fire pit for bonfires on the property and outdoor seating for everyone. There is a gas grill on the back porch, a picnic table, and a patio set for outdoor eating. We also have a private balcony off the master bedroom that overlooks the lake and bistro table and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee away from everyone while the morning sun is shining over the lake.
This home is located 5 minutes from the main street in town where you will find several restaurants and shops. We have three ice cream stores, two grocery stores, a bowling alley, a movie theater, coffee shop, mini golf, and a skate park right in town. Also, in town you can go to the city beach and pier on Lake Huron. It is a great family setting with a water park, playground equipment, lots of shaded areas and benches. Just a couple minutes down the road is the Lakewood Shore Golf Resort https://www.lakewoodshores.com/ with three courses. If you enjoy hiking, kayaking, and canoeing there are many places to go for those activities as well. You can visit Lumberman's Monument (15 min drive), which is a historical site with great views, hiking, and community activities https://www.michigan.org/property/lumberman-s-monument-visitor-center . The Iargo springs are also close by, where you can enjoy excellent views of the Ausable River and springs. http://www.us23heritageroute.org/iosco.asp?ait=av&aid=28. We are the landing point for the Ausable Canoe Marathon https://www.ausablecanoemarathon.org/ and spectators come from all over to celebrate the racers accomplishments.
We are located near US 23 which runs along Lake Huron. The home is located in between Tawas and Harrisville, which are also great places to visit and are 20 minutes in either direction. We are easy to find and are only a short distance from many exciting things to do.

Summary: Our family of 5 plus a family friend enjoyed our stay in Oscoda in this beautiful and well-maintained home. It had every amenity that we needed, including lots of dishes, cookware, towels, board games, plenty of blankets and pillows, a grill, comfortable beds and seating, and use of a washer and dryer. It's very quiet and relaxing on the property. We enjoyed sitting on the two decks and around the campfire. We appreciated having access to firewood on site ($6) and use of a leaf blower to clean off the sticks and leaves from the many trees on the property. The private beach was perfect for our kayaks and sunbathing. The water was warm, even in June! It's a short drive to downtown Oscoda where we enjoyed the ice cream parlor, movie theater, the boardwalk and beach on Lake Huron, and the well-stocked grocery stores and Goodwill (fun thrifting!). John was very responsive and checked in on us over email a few times to be sure we had everything we needed. There was a storm one day that knocked down a lot of branches, with almost all of Oscoda losing power. We did NOT lose power and John offered to send someone over to clean up the property if we wanted. The home is very spacious and we all had plenty of spots to sit and read, play board games, chat, have a drink, or watch a movie. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Clancys!
