Summary: Staying in a 170 year old historical mansion has its quirks. For us, we enjoy them. It certainly provides more character than genetically antiseptic chain hotel rooms. The Galena Inn had a few of them. Our quiet in the carriage house was lovely and well appointed. Steps across the property were good for us but may prove a burden to those with mobility issues. The main house is stunning. Antiques are era appropriate. The daily breakfast was excellent the 2 days we had breakfast. The staff is knowledgeable and engaging. We didn’t take advantage of the well stocked and well appointed game room but imagined we might if we stayed longer and/or in the main house. The location was perfect. We had immediate access to the ‘high school steps” which literally take you down to Main Street.
