Summary: We had the privilege of being the first to rent this house and it couldn't have been more perfect for our group which was my wife and I, our two sons and their wives, and four grandchildren, two who are 3 and two who are 5. The house was spotless when we arrived, wonderfully decorated and furnished, and clearly very kid-friendly (step stools in every bathroom, a wall with magnetic paint and magnetic animals, plants, insects and shapes to create pictures and designs, and a toy closet). Large windows facing the lake provided a beautiful view and made the rooms bright and airy. The screened-in deck was the ideal location for nearly every meal during the day and games each night. There were plenty of beds and bedrooms for our crew, all located away from the main living area so that there was no need for the early risers and night owls among us to tiptoe or whisper. A fire pit provided the perfect evening entertainment for making s'mores and counting/chasing lightning bugs. The location of the home was ideal... just one-mile into the center of town. We loved our stay at Hickory Haven and look forward to returning!
