Positive: The hotel is in a quiet and nice location. The rooms are very clean. I really liked that the hotel provides free breakfast: Obertraun is quite small, so we did not have to worry about what to eat in the morning. The hotel owners are very nice. IMPORTANT: If you want to take a bus to Hallstatt, you can pay with a credit card right on the bus. And make sure to bring cash! We were unable to ride a boat cause the boat company refuses to accept cards, which is extremely irrational in the 21st century for such a touristy place. Paying interchange fees is well worth it if that brings more business!
Negative: When you just arrive, it's pretty easy to confuse the hotel entrance and the private entrance where the owners live. But this is a very minor issue. Tiled bathroom floors get pretty cold in the evening and at night, so make sure to bring slippers!
Summary: I think it's a really nice place to stay if you want to explore the surrounding area.
