We bought our first holiday home 17 years ago and made probably one of the best decisions in our lives. While it had more of the IKEA charm at the beginning, we have furnished it year after year according to our taste and needs. The result is a place of relaxation and comfort where you should not miss anything from home. The crowning glory is the terrace roofing, which allows you to be out in the fresh air even in bad weather. It's lovely to read underneath when the rain pelts the canopy.The house is 5.5 km from the beach, which is why we bought the luxurious bicycles. This way you can forget about the car both for the way to the beach but also for shopping - of course only if you like it that way ...

The West Frisian Islands with their Sylt rival Texel, the Ijsselmeer with its many beautiful towns around it, the beautiful cities of Haarlem, Alkmaar, Bergen or Schoorl and last but not least the cosmopolitan city of Amsterdam.Golfers will get their money's worth in Dirkshorn and Alkmaar. Children can let off steam in several play parks (De Holle-Bolle-Boom) or a go-kart track (Schagen) and parents can find time for their favourite book on the quiet terrace.
