Summary: I had expected more from my stay at Hotel Flora. It all started before we even arrived. I called the hotel to ask about parking options and was told they had access to a garage and that you could also park along the canal. When I asked what the street parking cost, I got a slightly dismissive response and was told to look it up myself. That surprised me. Parking has to be one of the most common questions hotel guests ask. It would make sense to have that information ready. For reference, it’s 32 SEK per hour between 8 am and 10 pm, Monday to Saturday. When we got access to the room, the disappointment continued. It felt very bare and uninspiring. The space wasn’t terrible, just dull. A couple of paintings or some simple decor would have made a big difference and created a more welcoming atmosphere. The biggest issue for me was the cleanliness. As soon as I stepped into the bathroom, I noticed what looked like black mold underneath the mirror. It didn’t look new. If I could spot it within seconds, it’s hard to understand how it had been missed during cleaning. On top of that, the sink was clogged, which made it difficult to wash your hands properly. The only real positive was the young man working the night shift. He was genuinely friendly and helpful, and he deserves credit for that. Overall, I would not choose to stay here again.
