Summary: This is a lovely well appointed cottage. We were very comfortable here. It has been smartly updated. its in a very quiet location. Tawas and East Tawas are close by. Everything is cheaper and less pretentious, much more relaxed than an area such as Charlevoix. The weather was a little too cool for even trying to get in the lake, however, the neighbor gave us directions to the beach access. The property manager should be more explicit about the lake access, because according to the neighbor, everyone tries to hide it. The beach is sandy and the lake is beautiful. You could stay here with three kids, they would have to take the bunk beds. You can keep your bicycles in the garage. The bike trail is paved and travels through some nice areas but also along US23 however you are off the road. All the way through Tawas and East Tawas you can ride on the pathway/sidewalk but have to be cautious of the many pedestrians etc. There is a weekend Farmers Market and good stores. Restaurants are very casual and mostly inexpensive. The Bikeway to the state park is a roadway bicycle lane. The TV in the bedroom did not work for us, perhaps the remote batteries were dead. We played golf at Singing Bridge, had a nice time, and they also have a driving range there. People are super friendly on this side of the state. Don't miss the smoked turkey breast at Freel's Market.
