Positive: Location: easy access to 3 stations. 30 min walk from shopping centre's, Kyoto main station and 10min walk to Senbon Torii and about 6-8 min to a full supermarket. House layout: I read reviews that you have to go downstairs to bathroom at night which was true. Our muscles were a bit sore from skiing the first couple of days so it was harder, once healed we found it fine. The main bathroom is on the bottom floor and a second toilet is on the second floor with lounge and kitchen. Anyone showering or going in and out later didn't disturb anyone in bed on the top floor. Good size living room with sofa to put up feet after long days of walking and travelling. Plenty of heaters to warm up each room in winter. Rooms were a good size with wardrobes that were great for our larger winter bags.

Negative: Noise insulation wasn't as good as other places we stayed. So cars at night towards the weekend were a louder than expected. Stairs were a harder after coming off the mountains but got use to then after 2-3 days, anyone with mobility issues or weak knees probably would struggle. We had stairs at every property so this seems like the norm.

Summary: Great location and spacious base to rest after exploring.
