Positive: The hotel is in a brilliant location in Ixelles. It’s lovely to get away from the busy city centre for a bit while still being right in the heart of the city. The neighborhood is full of lovely shops, trendy restaurants, and coffee bars, and there are plenty of Art Nouveau buildings to spot and even visit. The rooms themselves are small but perfect for a city break. The beds are super comfortable, and the room was equipped with a coffee machine.
Negative: The hospitality was sorely lacking on everyone’s part. If you send WhatsApp messages but only get a reply to one out of every three questions, why bother asking in the first place? I certainly wasn’t after free stuff, but a simple message at check-in saying ‘Enjoy your weekend’ or ‘We’re delighted you’re celebrating with us’ would have made for a lasting memory. The atmosphere of the hotel and the staff don’t quite match up. Perhaps I’m just too used to it because I work in the industry myself.
