Positive: Absolutely wonderful place with lots of charm and warmth. The building itself with its rich history and the very kind, very dedicated staff create a super welcoming atmosphere that felt relaxing and wholesome. The room was very spacious, very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I really liked the set-up of the little common room where you could make yourself some tea or get water. The bathroom facilities were also vclean and plenty. Each floor has its own set of toilets and a washing area, as well as two set of stairs to go back and fourth between floors. There are four showers in total, all with a little closed of area to dress etc.. In short, while these are shared bathroom facilities they all offer a decent to really good amount of privacy. It just wanted to explain this more for people who are interested in staying at Lamp Iki but are unsure about that point. No need for hesitation or worries! The town / surrounding area is full of charm and there are a few really good restaurants / Izikaya and Cafés. The nature around town is stunning. Being here was one of the top highlights of a month long journey across all of Japan for me. I cannot recommend it enough!
