This beautiful waterfront cape-cod style home is situated on sunny Lake Koocanusa, on the BC side of the lake. It is located in a private road in the village of Wardner. No through traffic means it's ideal for families with children. Located in a quiet bay, with spectacular views of the crystal blue lake, and breathtaking Steeples mountains, Laurier Lakehouse has everything you could ask for in your vacation retreat. This is an ideal place to make memories, whether you want to relax in the sun, read a book on the deck or water ski on the lake.
The home features a large deck with awnings running the full length of the front of the house. Here you can enjoy cooking a meal on the BBQ, dining outdoors, or lounging in the shade on a hot summer afternoon. There is a large table for outdoor dining and another two seating areas, one on the upper deck and one on ground level beside the hot tub. On the upper deck there is a fire table to gather around in the evenings with ample seating for gathering. From this vantage point you will also appreciate the other outdoor features of this property. And for those quiet nights, step out of the walk-out basement to enjoy the sunset in your own private hot tub.
If you love to be closer to the water, enjoy the grassy waterfront area and take advantage of our new dock. It is accessible in just a short walk and is spacious enough to entertain on, tie up your boat and enjoy swimming and other water sports. There is a canoe, kayak, and stand up paddle boards for your enjoyment and the bay is quiet, no waves and boat traffic to worry about. Lifejackets are available for you to use as well. Lake Koocanusa is one of the warmest lakes in the summer with perfect water for skiing, wakeboarding, surfing and tubing. There is a public boat launch just minutes away by car.
Laurier Lakehouse is just 15 minutes from Cranbrook and 35 minutes to Fernie and Kimberly, if you want to take in some nightlife or are booking to take advantage of powdery slopes in the winter. Just steps out the front door, take advantage of miles and miles of hiking trails. Koocanusa also boasts fantastic fishing with ample kokanee and trout, so load up the rods and reels and cast your lines.
The house is decorated in a cape-cod style with large glass windows to take in the views, there are panoramic views of the lake from main floor. The living room, with a wood burning fireplace, dining room (seats 8-10) and kitchen, are an open plan, again allowing great views of the lake and mountains . The kitchen is modern and clean with new appliances and is a great gathering spot to cook and enjoy conversation.
The master bedroom on the main floor includes a King bed. There is a full bathroom on the main floor as well. There are two bedrooms on the upper floor with queen beds and a full bathroom. In the walk out basement level there is a wet bar complete with a wine/beer fridge to keep your beverages cold and not too far from the hot tub. There are another 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom on this level along with a family room with a comfy seating area where you can play games, hang out and spend quality time. A newer washer and dryer are also located on this level.
If you, or the kids, are needing some private time and suffering from technology withdrawal, all but two rooms feature a large smart screen TV and the home has high speed wireless internet.
