Perched atop an exclusive 4,600-foot ridge in one of the most beautiful areas of Banner Elk is Summit Peak at Elk River Club, an exclusive gated community with 24-hour security. The front door opens into a massive great room with a lofty ceiling and wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor windows revealing a monumental view of the expansive valley below and the magnificent mountains of the Blue Ridge in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. The dynamic landscape includes 23 peaks, mountains and knolls encompassing Mt. Mitchell (the highest elevation east of the Mississippi) and Roan and Hump Mountains, all of which are criss-crossed by the Appalachian Trail. The trail is easily accessible at several locations, with its verdant forests and numerous waterfalls.
The deck spans the length of the house and offers outdoor entertaining with the grandeur of the mountains in the background. A gas grill is available for the chef. Virtually all of the rooms have panoramic views of the landscape, and each bedroom has access to the expansive deck where the serene mountain views can be enjoyed.
The generous master suite includes a king-size bed with an en suite full bath and a two-sided fireplace. Soak in the two-person jetted tub while enjoying the fireplace and incredible view. Sooooo romantic.
