Positive: This traditional ryokan is located in Kamasaki Onsen not far from Shiroishi. We took a taxi and it was about 15 minutes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Shiroishi is perfect for 1 day sightseeing: it has a castle and several old samurai houses. We took the small 'shimin' bus near the ryokan. Dinner and breakfast were traditional Japanese and very nice. The onsen water has a iron smell, and the baths (m/f) are changed everyday so we could try them both. The room had a separate sitting area, and the futons were warm and very comfortable.
Negative: The building and rooms are dated, but that's part of the charm.
