Shamrock House is located on a double lot with plenty of space for outdoor games and spending time in the sun! While outside, take advantage of grilling some of those delicious fish you just caught or a tasty steak! Roast some hotdogs or make s’mores on one of the 2 firepit: one in the yard and the other on the lake facing patio.
McGregor has been noted to have some of the clearest sky views in Minnesota! Take a stroll on out from the walk-out on to the patio for star gazing or perhaps be lucky to catch a magnificent show of the Northern Lights!
Great fishing is just outside the door! Lake Minnewawa is 2,355 acres with an average depth of eight feet and the greatest depth is 21 feet. Fishers are welcome at all times of year! A variety of species are found including bass, northern pike, walleye, crappie, sunfish, and perch. With a few options of public access, you can tie your boat up to our private dock. Or take advantage of the pontoon that is included in the rental, you just have to provide the fuel.
If fishing isn’t your thing, take advantage of swimming in the lake and jumping from or relaxing on the dock! You may take part in many different water sports such as skiing, tubing, floating, kayaking, or even a leisurely boat ride.
Perhaps you're looking to hunt... Come and take your chance at a trophy sized buck! Or maybe a large black bear! There are lots of waterfowl species to hunt. Who doesn't like walking through the woods waiting for that grouse to appear? Not to mention, the shooting range for practice!
Looking for a bit more outside of the property? Minnesota National Golf Course is just a short car ride and offers 9 or 18 hole golf as well as many food options! There are several restaurants and bars nearby! Bann’s Bar is accessible by boat as well as by land and is a short trip either way! Hiking, atv’s, or snowmobiles more to your liking? There are plenty of trails near Shamrock House for all! Savannah State Park and Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge (great for bird watching!), just to name a couple. There are also several other lakes in the area to visit. You could also head out and take the scenic 65 route while visiting our home.
