Positive: This was our first time renting this house, but we have summered within 1/4-mile for ~50 years because there so many things to do within a few miles - come rain or shine. We appreciate the easy walk (300 yds) to the beach with its many rock pools (check it out on Google Earth). Our grandchildren (5 and 8 yrs-old) loved the challenge of scrambling at least half a mile along smooth and jagged granite rocks to Split Rock between the low and high tide marks. They treasured all kinds of sea creatures, shells, and driftwood from major winter storms. Launching boats and kayaks is easy from the boat ramp at the beach.

Negative: We knew ahead of time that there are no ocean views from the property. But we also knew that doesn't matter. The beach is so accessible and the views from the beach across the 3 mi-wide Muscle Ridge Channel, and even out to Vinalhaven (15 miles away) in the Penobscot Bay on a clear day are absolutely spectacular.

Summary: We have asked to rent this property again next year. What better recommendation is there?
