Close by to the southern tip of Coniston Water, alongside a working Lakeland farm, blissfully picturesque in every sense. This substantial farmhouse is the perfect setting for family holidays and sociable gatherings surrounded by quintessential Lakeland life and with breathtaking views in every direction including super view towards Coniston Old Man. A network of walks are available straight from your doorstep in every direction and if searching for a peaceful spot to escape the everyday, you have found it here at Raisthwaite Farm. == Accommodation in detail A private drive leads over a cattle grid to Raisthwaite Farm with ample parking outside; bring your bikes as there is plenty of space to keep them here. At the front of the farmhouse is a traditional entrance porch leading into the entrance hall but we prefer to access the property directly into the breakfast farmhouse kitchen which has everything you may need. There is a dining room being ideal for formal gatherings complete with original working range incorporating a hearty open fire. There are two separate living rooms, each with relaxing furnishings and woodburning stoves, perfect for cosy evenings. On this level is a shower room and useful utility room. Staircase to first floor with two king size bedrooms, one double and one twin bedroom, each enjoying the dreamy countryside views and on this level is the modern house bathroom with shower over the bath. Upstairs to the magnificent loft suite with sumptuous super king sleigh bed. This is a romantic space with star gazing roof lights, a dressing area and all open plan complete with roll top slipper bath, what a great place for a good soak after a day on the fells! There is WC and wash basin for this room too and we think there will be a fight to get this bedroom first... Outside the garden is a delight with orchard and direct access to the 25 acres of land and with patio and garden furniture being a must for al-fresco living on sunny days. Location A holiday home in Coniston or the surrounding areas makes a peaceful alternative to the busier tourist destinations such as Bowness and Ambleside. The scenery is breathtaking, including views over Coniston Water - the Lake District's 3rd largest lake. Many famous Lake District walking routes are located around Coniston, such as the famous Coniston Old Man the other Coniston Fells, Swirl How and Wetherlam. There a lots of boating activities available on Coniston Water itself, from row boats to sailing at Coniston Boating Centre, and also leisurely lake cruises on the Coniston Launch and Steam Yacht Gondola. Historic attractions nearby include the fabulous Brantwood - former home of John Ruskin. The impressive building overlooks Coniston Water, and is home to many arts and crafts activities and exhibitions.
