Summary: This was our first trip to Turks and Caicos, but I hope it won't be our last! I feel so lucky to have found this great listing on VRBO - everything was exactly as listed and Ann (the host) was super responsive and helpful! The listing recommends renting a car and I didn't listen - this was the only thing I would do differently next time. The apartment is on the South side of the island where it's quieter and less populated with tourists (which we loved), but that means it's not very close to stores/shops/restaurants. And when I say "not close", I mean a pretty significant hike on roads that are not pedestrian-friendly. We had a great taxi driver (recommended by Ann), but we would have been better off with a rental car. The beach that is right down the road from the apartment is absolutely gorgeous - shallow, calm, turquoise water. It was very cool to watch the kite surfers and the horseback riders. If you want to snorkel off a beach, you'll want to head to the North side of the island. Many thanks to Ann and Joseph for making our first visit so memorable :)
