Positive: - You will have the beach right in your backyard. - Full board. They will cook you delicious native food for breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snacks. - Very secluded. If you want some place quiet and avoid the hustle and bustle of regular St. Martin crowd this is the place for you. - Great view at the beach. You can see the sunset in the ocean if the sky is clear. - Friendly staff. - The breeze and the rural settings make it quite serene.
Negative: - Too expensive. No A/C, no 24h security guard, no hot water. The rooms and settings of an eco resort like this cannot justify this cost. We paid like 13000+ Taka for a single room per night. This is no five star hotel. - The part of the beach you get easy access to has lots of sharp and small coral stones. It's not ideal for bathing. You may have to walk quite a bit to find a part where it may be safe to bath, but then it defeats the whole point of picking this resort. - Half the road is super bad. If you have any elderly people with you don't pick this location. - You may feel isolated. You can't easily travel to other parts of the Island. You will have to arrange for transportation to come to you from the bazar and take you where you want to go which is a hassle. (I suggested they keep some bikes for rent at the property). - Does not feel secure. Given that this place is very isolated it gets quite spooky at night. - Too many insects and bugs. There's no A/C. So you will have to rely on the ocean breeze(which is plenty) to sleep through the night. To get the breeze you will want to keep the windows and doors open, but if you do that insects and bugs will bug you all night. - There were too many flies when we were eating. I don't know if it's due to lack of hygiene at the kitchen or it's a St. Martin's Island thing, but it was very annoying. - Washrooms were a disappointment. It's okay, but expected better. The sliding glass door was often a hassle to operate.
Summary: Too expensive to justify the meager amenities it provides
