If you are looking for a quiet weekend getaway, look no further.
Tucked away on seventeen acres of wooded lowlands bordered by the banks of the Yadkin River, the Rockford Point Cabin offers a peaceful retreat. We have meticulously constructed this 1600 square foot, 2 bedroom cabin for your enjoyment.
We maintain a strict NO SMOKING policy in or within 25 feet of the premises. I do not allow more than 6 guests in my residence. Please do not attempt to bring more guests than you register.
The space
The space lacks for nothing. A modern, well-appointed kitchen, lots of natural light, and comfortable beds with linens have been chosen for your comfort. The main bedroom features a queen sized bed with outside deck access overlooking the Yadkin River. Bedroom #2 is a loft with two twin beds and an incredible view of the Yadkin river valley. The family space is designed to create cozy seating to enjoy an evening together of games, TV, reading or discussion. The open living room, complete with a stone fireplace and sofa bed will offer a relaxed evening. An outdoor fire ring next to the river offers wonderful sunset views. The construction on this cabin was completed early in 2019. This new facility is awaiting your arrival.
Close to the nearby towns and cities of Boonville, Elkin, Mt. Airy and Winston Salem, you are a short jaunt from any needed convenience.
Numerous local attractions abound within a short radius; Silo Run Golf Course located only 1.5 miles away, numerous wine vineyards including Rag Apple Lassie (2 miles) , Stony Knoll Vineyards (8 miles), the Rockford General Store (3 miles) Stone Mountain State Park (22 miles), Pilot Mountain State Park(22 miles) and Winston Salem (25 miles).
In the spring and summer guests can canoe and kayak from numerous upstream public access points to the back door of this cabin.
Other things to note
Guests can hike along the banks of the mighty Yadkin River and hop stones across Farmers Creek. This 3/4 mile nature trail will showcase the beauty of the Yadkin River Valley. Keep a keen eye out for the Osprey, Beaver, Fox, Deer and local Bald Eagles that call this place home.
Guests will need to travel on 1/2 mile of gravel road to reach the cabin. I drive to the cabin in a VW Golf with no issues.. A higher clearance vehicle (though not necessary) is generally recommended depending upon your driving style. Go slow and you will be fine.
Additional Options:
Automatic Shotgun Trap Machine available for rental: $50 rental includes machine and a box of clay pigeons (Approximately 100 clay pigeons) We can rent you a shotgun and sell you shells if needed. Shotgun rental is $25. 100 Shells $40. It is suggested that you bring your own.
Kayak and Canoe- We have three single person kayaks, and associated gear. $35 each.
1 tandem kayak, $60
Two Person Canoe- $60
If schedule permits, we will shuttle you to the access point 4.5 miles upriver and you can paddle back to the cabin. No additional costs for shuttle service. This is a 2 hour float trip.
A 3.5-4 hour float trip option is also available.
Firewood is available on-site for purchase. $7 per bundle.
