Welcome to The Mokum House, located on six private acres, high in the oak-studded hills of west Atascadero. Mokum is the unofficial name for Amsterdam, the birthplace of the owner of this unique home, and means “safe haven" in Yiddish. We welcome you to relax in this safe haven and enjoy everything it has to offer the traveler. This three bedroom, two bath home, sleeping 6-8, features a hot tub, an outdoor seating area with a fire pit, a BBQ, gorgeous views from every room and a convenient central location, plus its pet friendly.
This unique home is built on three levels to maximize the views from every room, with short staircases connecting the areas. Enter on the middle level, and just a few steps up will take you to the kitchen and dining room. Enjoy the gas range, the Keurig coffee machine, the juicer and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare and set a beautiful meal. The dining room overlooks the formal living room, with a super comfortable sleeper sofa, fireplace, binoculars to enjoy the view and the world's best record collection (in our humble opinion) plus we have kids books, art supplies and some toys. Just five steps down to the casual and comfortable family room with huge smart TV, leather sectional couch with oversized ottomans, a chaise lounge plus access to the deck with a propane fire pit and seating area, outdoor dining and the hot tub. We have a nice lawn for your furry friends to explore off leash and six acres to explore with them on a leash.
Continue up the stairs from the dining room to the next level, where you will find two guest bedrooms, both with queen beds, a shared full bathroom (tub/shower combo), and the laundry room, with a full size washer and dryer exclusively for guest use. Up another short set of stairs takes you the private and romantic primary suite, with the uber comfortable king size adjustable bed, attached full bath (tub/shower combo), dedicated workstation with oversized monitor, and a smart TV.
This home has several outdoor areas to explore, including raised bed garden area, a fenced lawn area, a deck with expansive views and a lower patio area with a hot tub. There is also a picnic area with amazing views near the BBQ on the northwest side of the home. Guest will enjoy all of the private and cozy areas to explore both inside and outside this amazing home!
