This stunning former Victorian post office in Fence is a lovely cosy holiday home for the family, in a fantastic location for many surrounding activities.. 4 steps to entrance.
Ground Floor:
Dining room: With electric wood burner, 40" Freeview Smart TV, seating area and French doors leading to patio.
Kitchen: With electric double oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, slow cooker, fridge and freezer.
First Floor:
Living room: With electric coal-effect fire, 40" Freeview Smart TV and Playstation 4.
Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed.
Bedroom 2: With zip and link twin beds (can be super kingsize on request).
Bathroom: With bath, shower cubicle and toilet.. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and superfast fibre broadband included. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate on request. Welcome pack. 24 hour turnaround laundry service (by arrangement with the ironing/laundry shop below). Lawned garden with patio, garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are 3 steps in the garden. . Tucked away in the charming village of Fence, this former Victorian post office dates back to 1880. Carefully converted and refurbished throughout, it makes a lovely home from which to explore the Forest of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the Ribble Valley. Conveniently located at the foot of Pendle Hill, in this small Pendleside village in the parish of Old Laund Booth. Private dedicated parking is adjacent to the building and will accommodate two average size cars in tandem.
You will be spoilt for choice with easy access to both Lancashire with it's rich history and the Yorkshire Dales with all it's rugged beauty. Nearby Barrowford plays host to a selection of independent shops, cafés and bars all offering something a bit different, or try Boundary Mill for a bargain and a wonderful afternoon tea. The area around Fence is renowned for having a wide selection of places to eat both a la carte and good pub grub. In Fence you are truly spoilt with a Michelin star restaurant at just 400 yards away, also serving Timothy Taylor's, it doesn't get much better!
Pendle Hill, a challenge for keen walkers, is just 3 miles away and the neighbouring villages are renowned for the legend of the Pendle Witches and the most notorious witch trial of the 17th century. St. Mary's Church, located in Newchurch, is home to the tombstone known as the 'witches grave'. Alternatively, the bustling market towns of Clitheroe and Skipton can be reached in under half an hour. Further afield, the Lake District and many popular spots along the Fylde Coast can also be reached in under an hour. Fishing available nearby. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
