Our mountain golf course home has amenities for a retreat to remember, whether it is a family getaway, golf vacation or a place for friends to gather in the mountains near Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) in Estes Park, Colorado.
We named our home Elkpond Retreat after enjoying the multitude of elk meandering on the 5th fairway and beyond, and frolicking in the pond in full view of our deck! Our favorite way to spend time is to relax on the deck in comfortable furniture at the fire table to enjoy the golf course and mountain views after a great hike, snow shoe or x-c ski expedition . Sipping wine, reading, painting and simply enjoying this quiet, peaceful place will come easy.
The great room is Grand with a gas fireplace of floor to ceiling dry stack stone. Wood beams, many windows with views and a lofty vault create an elegant Colorado mountain style home. We like to use all 8 places at our dining table with family and friends, and there’s always extra seating with the leather couch and two chairs for movie night. Enjoy our DVD collection of 50 plus movies as well as cable and high speed internet.
The vaulted and open kitchen has everything you will need to enjoy cooking like a chef with newer appliances throughout. Feel free to use the crock pot, blender, mixer, toaster oven, coffee maker, spices and all utensils to make Elkpond Retreat your home during your stay.
The Main Floor Master Bedroom offers privacy with vaulted ceiling and ceiling fan plus an ensuite spa-like bathroom complete with jetted tub, large stone tiled shower, granite and travertine tile finishes. Find a hair dryer, paper products plus soap, shampoo and conditioner to use during your stay.
Full size clothes washer and dryer are nicely located on the main level and a main floor powder room is an extra convenience. Laundry soap, dryer sheets, trash bags and dishwasher detergent is provided for your convenience.
There are Two Upper Level Queen Bedrooms with large closets and a dresser in each to unpack and move into. The upper level 3/4 bathroom has a stone tiled shower and contemporary features, again with granite and travertine finishes. Both upper queen bedrooms have exterior doors that open to the upper balcony.
The spacious upper loft has multiple windows with mountain views , a comfortable reading chair, writing desk plus a leather sofa. This loft space is its own peaceful retreat!
Wandering to town is easy – there is a walk/bike path within a few yards of the condo, plus a free shuttle that runs throughout the day with a silver path stop right at Community Drive. Town is 1.4 miles from Elkpond, a 5 minute drive or 20 to 30 minute walk.
If you golf, you can walk there as our property backs up to the 5th fairway and the clubhouse is within walking distance. Hangar Restaurant at the club house has spectacular views from their deck to the south with vistas across the golf course into Rocky Mountain National Park and Long’s Peak in all it’s glory!
We enjoy the short walk (30 min) to local restaurants, and our local breweries. And after a day of hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, shopping and dining...there is no place like Elkpond at which to re-live and share the memories...
Our 2-story townhome is in one-half of a duplex which backs up to the 5th fairway of the 18-hole golf course.
