Located in the trendiest neighborhood in town, this historic bed and breakfast was built by the fiancé of Colorado Springs founder, Winfield Scott Stratton. This updated home is one of the comfiest summer rentals you will find. Enjoy the mountain air beside the outdoor firepit. Walk one block to the newest restaurants, cafes, and bars. Bike to Colorado’s most breathtaking trails at Red Rocks Park or Helen Hunt Falls. This beautiful home was built in 1894 by the fiancé of local legend Winfield Scott Stratton and has a rich historical heritage. As the story goes, when Stratton, who made one of Colorado’s richest gold discoveries ever, broke off their engagement, his fiancé successfully sued him and built our home with her settlement. All the woodwork, including the refinished floors and custom cabinets, is original. The plush beds, air conditioning, and modern furnishings provide for a comfortable ambiance. Unique touches, like the claw-foot bathtub, make you feel like you have traveled back in time. There are so many choices for restaurants, cafes, and music venues within walking distance that you could stay for a week and not get to all of them. And, if outdoor activities are your vibe, then this is the perfect location. You can bike to Red Rocks Open Space, which has endless hiking and mountain biking trails for all levels. You are also a ten-minute drive from Garden of the Gods and Helen Hunt Falls, each of which boasts their own extensive trail networks and breathtaking views. If golf is your game, play and dine the Broadmoor, which is less than ten minutes away and has hosted the PGA tour for multiple events. There is so much to do and see just outside your door! You are also about 15 minutes from the Air Force Academy and ten minutes from Fort Carson.
