Positive: I have stayed here now more times than I can remember. In fact I have a booking to stay again in Nov for Winter Pride. However, I shall be canceling that booking and staying elsewhere - as you will read the VelSuites just simply is NOT what it once was. The stand-out 'good thing' is the welcome from Marius. He is charming, friendly and always on time. He was politer and helpful in explaining that one bathroom was out of order (the tap was broken in Velsuite i) and awaiting repair. That didn't matter as I was this time travelling alone and would therefor only use the other bathroom. It is always nice to be remembered as a guest who has stayed before - and Marius certainly represents the owners well with his greeting and check in skills.
Negative: I have moaned before about the hit-&-miss cleaning. Since writing previous reviews I am afraid that the cleaning is simply NOT up to the standard I would expect nor that I am personally comfortable with. I have mentioned before the stains on the bedding and towels - this is still an issue. However more than that, try wearing white socks for a coupe of hours and you will see how filthy the floors are in the apartment. The shower enclosure is also grimey and whilst you can see that a cleaner has 'wiped surface over with a cloth', I would suggest that the cloth is not clean enough. The apartments have little or no privacy (except no. IV). On this occasion, having stayed before, I brought with me a cheap IKEA blind to put up to offer me more privacy. I was/am VERY concerned to see that all THREE smoke detectors on the ceiling in the apartment have been completely removed. This is not acceptable. My safety is important to me and is, other than the lack of cleanliness, the main reason I have cancelled my Nov reservation to stay again. It is disappointing to say the least.
