Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Good location. Very clean and warm. Good service from agency staff who were quick to respond to the hearing issue we had.
Negative: This property is really old and badly maintained. It really needs an upgrade. First night we went to cook and the button fell off the cooker. My husband fixed it. We went to open a window in the upstairs bathroom and the whole window came away in our hand ! The toilet seat in our bathroom didn’t stay up so when sat on the loo you had to hold it up with your hand ! There is only table seating for 5 people so if you are more than 5 you can’t eat together. The heating stopped working one night which given it was -3 outside was a big problem. The entrance drive to the house is steep and a nightmare if you have a big car. As there is no space to turn properly we had to reverse our car up the steep drive. There was a fire inside in the living room but no wood or kindling provided so we couldn’t have a fire. For the fire pit outside a strange fire had been prepared made of old pieces of a painted fence. Anyone should know that you don’t burn painted wood. The only other wood available were huge wet logs that wouldn’t burn. When we arrived the dishwasher was full of the previous guests dishes. There is a smell of drains around the staircase and one of the toilets blocked due to poor drainage.
Summary: Badly maintained. Needs an upgrade.
