And yet, despite its' blissful, delightful and peaceful locale, it's just a FIVE-minute drive to beaches, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, waterparks and useful amenities.
Ideally positioned, it's under fifteen minutes drive away from the vibrant heart of Kyrenia. Here, the picturesque Old Harbour area which encompasses the impressive, 16th century Venetian built Kyrenia Castle, is a popular place to visit while soaking up the local atmosphere and enjoying the multitude of bistros, cafés, restaurants and shops in a lively, traditional setting.
Back at VILLAMINA, the colourful, fragrant and mature gardens are enveloped by natural hand-built stone walls and bordered by a kaleidoscope of pink, purple, red and white bougainvillaeas.
The extensive gardens boast a myriad of fruits including apple, banana, jujube, lemon, lime, nectarine, orange, passion fruit, peach, pear and plum.
Naturally, when in season, guests are welcome to help themselves and enjoy the freshness!
This beautiful outside space affords absolute privacy, complete relaxation and ultimate wind-down!
Frangipanis, Japanese wisterias, palms and pepper trees accompany a plethora of scented bushes, succulent plants and flowering shrubs surrounding the alluring, private and secluded pool.
The overflow pool measures 10m x 5m and has a uniform depth of 1.45m allowing EVERYONE to enjoy oodles of fun and games in the idyllic surroundings!
We live to the front of VILLAMINA and personally ensure this glorious pool is always kept in pristine condition so that it can be enjoyed at any time; even under a sky full of stars!
Surrounding the pool is a large patio area with sun loungers, sunshades, tables and chairs. And in addition, an outdoor bathroom is close by.
There is also a separate BBQ area with seating where you can indulge in a feast of culinary delights 'alfresco.'

There are three well-proportioned bedrooms which can sleep six adults in comfortable beds and for our younger guests we have cots, high chairs and stair gates top and bottom if needed.
VILLAMINA is fully air-conditioned throughout with efficient, whisper-quiet units in all bedrooms upstairs and a larger unit downstairs. These keep the temperature just as you need it, with each unit providing cool or warm air as required.
All windows and patio doors are fitted with aluminium framed fly screens allowing cooling Summer breezes to amble through as desired.

But our local taxi services are very reasonably priced too!
If you wish, we can arrange everything for you with proven local companies in the North, including return airport transfers from Larnaca (£70 one way) and Paphos airports in the South or Ercan airport in the North.
Hire cars are of very good quality and we can either have your car waiting for you on arrival or delivered directly to you the following morning.
Set in the Beşparmak (Five Finger) Mountain foothills, VILLAMINA is located within a five-minute drive of the traditional village centre of Çatalköy with its' restaurants, bars and coffee shops and many more places to eat nearby to suit all tastes.
It is the same distance to local shops, supermarkets, a petrol station, money exchange bureaux and other amenities.
There are also several top notch hotels dotted around, particularly along the coastline offering a variety of high quality but extremely affordable eateries for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a snack.
Most of them also have water parks and offer many other leisure activities besides, such as jet-skiing, parasailing, scuba diving and snorkelling.
They also have superb health and beauty spa facilities, which prove very good value given the currency exchange rate.
As mentioned, the main town of Kyrenia is under fifteen minutes drive away with its' many shops, restaurants, bars, Wednesday market, incredible castles, museums and enticing harbour.

By car, VILLAMINA is also just fifteen minutes away from Bellapaıs, famous for the remarkable 12th Century Bellapaıs Abbey which can be seen illuminated at night and where international music festivals are regularly held during the season.
Here too, you will find lovely restaurants in elevated positions where you can enjoy delicious food in amazing settings!
Also lit up at night and again clearly visible from VILLAMINA is the enchanting 10th century St Hilarion Castle which is open to exploring most days and which offers a great setting for photo opportunities given its' towering location above Kyrenia.
There are other castles to visit too, such as Buffavento and Kantara Castles and many other places of historical interest, all within striking distance of VILLAMINA for a memorable day out.
Toward Esentepe to the East, is the Korineum Golf and Beach Resort but even if golf or tennis is not your thing, just drop in for a refreshing drink or snack on the terrace and enjoy the fabulous views.

Alternatively, drive down to the clubs' private beach opposite the course entrance.
Gaze out at the Mediterranean and be enthralled by the transcendent sunsets as the sun magically, disappears into the sea.
There is a wide selection of beaches, both man-made and natural within a very short distance of VILLAMINA.
Alagadı Plajı or Turtle Beach as it is known is one such beach.
It is just ten minutes away by car and during the Summer months, you can visit the Marine Turtle Conservation Project and watch the baby turtles hatch from their protected nesting sites and take their very first steps toward the sea before embarking on their perilous journeys.
There is a Night Watch initiative which starts at 20.30 hours. It is very popular and booking well in advance is advised.
Another area well worth visiting is the Karpaz Peninsula or "panhandle" which is East of VILLAMINA.
It's a beautiful, stress-free drive along the coastal route and you may even pass a wandering wild donkey or two along the way!
