The region is characterised by gently rolling hills with wonderful views and is ideal for hiking, cycling or water sports, and there is a lovely beach with a children's playground, boat and bike hire, snack bars and a rest area for water sports enthusiasts, as well as boat and canoe trips on the lake or the adjacent Peene, and excursions to the Reuterstadt town of Stavenhagen, Malchin or the Hanseatic town of Demmin, all just 15 km away.
