Positive: My 8 year old grandson summed it up by saying "This is the greatest Christmas present ever!" We gave this July mountain getaway to all 16 of our family members for Christmas. It was a perfect place for our family to connect and make special memories! The accommodations were unique and rustic. The treehouse and Hobbit house were a hit as well as the ladder room! We loved the short thunderstorms that came through and cooled things off each day and enjoyed the deer and birds that came to visit. The deck was amazing! There were so many fun things to do with everyone of every age. The zipline, disc golf, and game room were a hit and we loved getting to know the hosts. They were friendly and helpful and felt like family by the end of the stay! Lots of fun things nearby to do- hiking Cascade Falls, Paddle boarding and kayaking at Navajo Lake. We stopped at Bryce Canyon on the way down and Cedar Breaks on the way back, but the best connections happened at the cabin.
Negative: These weren't necessarily things we didn't like, but more to help you manage expectations. The cabin is older and if you think of it more as "glamping" than a modern luxury cabin, you'll be happier. The area cools down at night even during the summer so be prepared with warm clothes and blankets. Don't be too uptight about cleanliness -this is the mountains and you are sharing it with the outdoors. It was clean, but not luxury accommodations level clean and they spray for bugs, but you may still see a spider or two trying to stake its territory. We didn't see many mosquitoes though and that was a plus!
