Positive: The house had plenty of space. When we were having issues with the air conditioning, the owner responded by having someone come to the house. It is obvious that the house was originally decorated and outfitted by someone who paid attention to detail.
Negative: The immediate neighborhood where the house is is nice, but just a few blocks away. It gets pretty rough. Our first night there, when we were driving towards downtown, we saw two gangs of girls getting into a fight. That was not a safe area. One of the things that made me pick this house was the beautiful gardens in the pictures. When we got there, the front was full of weeds and there were a lot of dead plants. There were dead plants in the back, and the garden had not been cared for so things were overgrown (I mean growing into the path). The table in the back under the gazebo was filthy and could not be used. The stairs and the basement were full of cobwebs and were dirty. That is where the washer dryer and the half bathroom is, so you have to go down there if someone is using the upstairs bathroom. Although the details had been well thought out initially, it seems like maintenance has fallen a little behind and things were not the same as in the pictures. Also, we arrived on a very hot day and the air conditioning had not been turned on. It took hours for the house to cool down, and then one bedroom had no cool air coming into it at all. That was not fixed during our stay.
