The Hideaway is a very special place located in Cornville (wine country) at the end of a private dirt road but 10 minutes to Old Town Cottonwood (Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Tuzigoot Monument, Sycamore Canyon Wilderness). Thousands of acres of hiking are right outside your door with your "best friend" (canine under 50 lbs and a good listener). Perfect for birding and enjoying dramatic views of Sedona and Mingus Mountain. Known as the new Napa Valley, take a 30-minute drive to Jerome where you will find fabulous restaurants including Clinkscale, Haunted Hamburger, Grapes, and breathtaking sunsets. Hiking on the Mingus above Jerome offers more fabulous views. The Hideaway is also 20 minutes from Sedona, 15 minutes from Page Springs Vineyards, and 20 miles to Camp Verde (Montezuma's Castle and well) and the delicious Moscato. Hop on Interstate-17 in 15 minutes for quick jaunts to Flagstaff or Prescott.
The Hideaway is an eco-friendly duplex featuring gray water, composting, solar and gardens galore most of which are farmed by a well-known local seedsman. No chemicals of any kind are permitted, and we are happy to supply nontoxic cleaning products.
Carefully chosen amenities include a queen sleeper sofa, cactus rib coffee table, antique dresser, bedside tables, desk, kitchen table, and antique kitchen cupboard. Beautiful art and soulful appointments. Knotty pine paneling, and saltillo tile floors. No smoking anywhere on the property.
An additional note of importance: I am learning over time by hosting more folks what level of clarity I need to communicate regarding strong scents in body washes, laundry detergents, and perfumes. I am trying to keep the Hideaway scent-free for sensitive folks.
