Die Ferienwohnung „Bei Trienchen“ liegt im kleinen, nicht weit vom Rursee entfernten Dörfchen Steckenborn. Steckenborn ist ein rund 500 Jahre altes Dorf welches zur Gemeinde Simmerath gehört und mitten im Nationalpark Eifel liegt, der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in der Eifel. Von hier aus gelangen Sie problemlos zur bekannten Wander Strecke Eifelsteig. Die idyllische Lage lädt aber ebenso zum entspannen und Seele baumeln lassen in der Natur ein, an heißen Tagen auch gerne an dem ca. 10min entfernten Rursee. Hier gibt es viele Freizeitangebote rund um und auf dem See. Die geräumige Wohnung mit Balkon bietet reichlich Platz und die Glasfaser-Internetverbindung ist ideal zum streamen oder fürs Homeoffice. Ihre Haustiere sind bei „Trienchen“ herzlich willkommen. Die Neubau-Wohnung liegt direkt am Waldrand und eignet sich somit auch hervorragend für Ihren Vierbeiner. Eine Garage ist vorhanden, Sie können also auch Ihre Räder mitbringen. Die Route-Ravel, unsere ehemalige Bahnstrecke, ist nun eine wunderschöne Fahrradstrecke von Aachen bis nach Eupen quer durch alle möglichen Dörfer mit einigen Raststätten. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten finden Sie in Simmerath, ca. 5 km entfernt, das nötigste bekommen Sie in der 24-Std-Milch Tanke ein paar Meter die Straße hoch. Im Dorf gibt es außerdem einen Bäcker, eine Sparkasse, eine Bar und einen kleinen Italiener. Bei Fragen stehen wir gerne jederzeit zur Verfügung.

Summary: The apartment is new, modern, spacious, light, uncluttered, and very clean. The neighborhood isn't anything special but it's fine. There are pretty hikes in the area, and the lakes are pretty to visit. Kevin was very friendly but didn't respond to the last couple of messages I sent (it worked out, because he lives in the house so we saw him and could ask our questions). One thing: the bedroom faces the street. If you're a light sleeper and sleep with the window open (as we always do), you might be bothered by the comings and goings late at night or early in the morning - the gravel driveway is a bit noisy when people walk or drive over it. Other than that, really a nice apartment!
