How about your own private retreat for your next mountain vacation! You'll find it at Stars, Stripes & Serenity, a unique getaway with 2 cabins, perfect for extended family or friends who like some elbow room. The cabins are set on almost 5 acres, and include a stocked pond perfect for fishing up dinner a hot tub with a scenic view of the property, and a fire pit for cozy gatherings, so bring your s'mores fixings!
Upon entering the cabin, you'll notice the vaulted ceilings and the all-wood interior. An open floor plan keeps the cook and company together. The kitchen island seats eight, perfect for good conversation over a meal! Granite counters, hickory cabinets and mountain details add to the rustic yet contemporary appeal of Stars, Stripes & Serenity. Plenty of counter space and all the modern conveniences for meal prep, too.
In the open living area, a large, wall-mounted television is a nice place to gather round to take in a favorite movie, or just lounge on the comfortable sofas. But wait, there's more! This house also has a large vaulted den on the main floor, with comfy leather sofas and chairs and another wall-mounted television for separate viewing pleasure.
The big covered porch is also vaulted, and several seating areas urge you to put your feet up and read a book, visit with your guests and take in the incredible scenery of the pond, fire pit and natural setting.
There's plenty of room to sleep a crowd at Stars, Stripes & Serenity. On the main level you'll find the master suite with a queen-sized log bed and an en suite bathroom with a large shower. Also on the main floor is a second bedroom with a bunk bed with a single over a double served by another bathroom (with oversize shower).
Upstairs a sleeping loft offers a queen and 2 twin beds, ideal for a couple with small kids they want to keep close by.
Downstairs there's more room to play and sleep in a large room offering two built-in bunks with double beds and twins above, as well as a sofa and another large wall-mounted Smart TV. It's the perfect place for kids and young adults to have their space and do a little gaming. Another bathroom on this level, with a large tiled shower and the washer/dryer (though we hope you don't have to do laundry on your vacation), completes the sleeping arrangements.
Also downstairs at you'll enjoy the hot tub (seating 6-8) on the large covered patio, with additional seating to take in the scenic view.
Unique to this property is a separate bunkhouse, with 2 sets of bunkbeds, with twins above and doubles below! This cozy space offers seating and it's own large Smart TV with DVD player too.
Where to put all your stuff? No worries, we have you covered on that end, too, with a foyer/mudroom on both floors. It's perfect for staging coolers, coats & gear, including fishing rods in a specially-designed holder.
From this cabin's location, you'll easily enjoy exploring all the Blue Ridge Parkway has to offer – from hiking trails to scenic vistas, to historic cabins (check out the Brinegar Cabin at Doughton Park to the north) to the more palatial Moses Cone Park just south of Blowing Rock. You'll be close to the village of Glendale Springs, home to a restaurant, incredible gift shop.
You'll be in West Jefferson in 35 minutes where shops, galleries, antique stores, restaurants, murals, and festivals await you. Just ten minutes past that is the village of Lansing, where Pie on the Mountain makes a great pizza, and music is offered monthly at the Barn in the Lansing Creeper Park.
