Located in Taylor Creek on the north end of Lake Okeechobee, this cozy and welcoming lake home and dock house is perfect for accommodating up to 8 people looking to unwind. Relax on the porch and soak in the tranquil lake atmosphere, or take advantage of fishing the lake, biking the nature trails, or taking in the local rodeo events. Inside, you’ll find modern amenities paired with charming rustic touches, making it the ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle while staying comfortable. Why stay at a hotel when here you have much more! Two Kitchens fully stocked, Two washers/dryers, 500 sqft screened patio, 850 sqft covered dock to grill fish from or just relax and take in the serenity. Private parking for up to a total of 4 trucks and boats included (would have to unhook only 1 trailer to fit everyone). Out back the canal system is loaded with great fishing & scenery. We are located less then 5 minutes from Lake Okeechobee's Taylor Creek lock by water and the best fishing and boating spots. Minutes from local ramps as well. Want to take in the local rodeo events? We’re also only 5 minutes from the Agri-Civic Center.
Both individual units, our lake house and dock house are well appointed and very comfortable for up to four guests each to relax after the day’s activities. We start you with two days supply of coffee/tea, laundry supplies, and various other toiletries. If more items are needed, there is both a Walmart and multiple supermarkets close by. They are both fully furnished with WiFi. There is a boatlift available for a bass boat (only) for a charge of $10.00 per day. Please note that you will be responsible for any damage to the equipment or the lift space. You are free to use the covered boat parking at no charge without the use of the lift. We are not responsible for any damage to your boat while using said space.
There is parking for up to 4 trucks with boats/trailers. Please be aware that the double gate does swing out so we will not be responsible for any damage to your vehicles or boats if parked too closely to it.
Tropical Environment Disclaimer:
Our property is located in Florida’s lush and vibrant ecosystem. While we maintain a regular extermination schedule, it’s essential to note that you may encounter native bugs or wildlife during your stay. This is part of the natural Florida experience.
Some examples of critters and creatures you might see include:
• Bugs: Mosquitoes, palmetto bugs, ants, and the occasional spider. Please note that for about a week's time in both the months of May and September, the love bugs will be in excess as that is their season.
• Wildlife: Lizards, frogs, alligators and if you’re lucky, a glimpse of a majestic bird or even an otter.
Please rest assured that we work diligently to keep these encounters to a minimum, but total control in a tropical climate is not always possible. If there is an unwelcome animal that needs to be dealt with, you must contact us via Vrbo's Direct Message system immediately.
* Please note: The property has a private deck overlooking the water. As with most Florida waterways, wildlife such as birds, turtles, otters, manatees, and occasionally alligators may be present. For everyone’s safety, swimming or entering the water is strictly prohibited. Guests must supervise children and pets at all times when near the water. By booking, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk and agree that the property owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or incidents that may occur in or around the water.
* We can't control the weather, traffic, neighbors, or anything unexpected. Please plan your trip accordingly.
* We leave plenty of cleaning supplies to avoid excessive cleaning fees. Any seasoning, and other extra items in our pantries are complimentary to use but please do not take. You are welcome to use what you need.
* There will be an additional cleaning fee if the grill or surrounding areas in or around the homes are left excessively dirty.
* All guests must be comfortable with climbing stairs. There are railings on the stairs but, no guards or gates on either floor.
* Minors cannot be left unattended in either home.
* 4 guest capacity at all times per living quarters. No parties or large gatherings of any kind! No smoking inside the home. Please do not disturb the neighbors.
* 2 pet maximum limit, additional cleaning fee of $100.00
Full Access to the entire property with the exception of the attic, locked closets/cabinets, owner's shed & garage.
There is a lower storage area available when renting this listing and the access code will be provided prior to check-in if needed. There is a separate refrigerator that can be used for the storing of fish as we ask that there is no cooking or storing of fish in either home.
House Rules:
• No Refunds: Once your booking is confirmed, it is non-refundable under all circumstances.
• No Parties or Large Gatherings: Our home is meant for relaxing and reconnecting, not for hosting events or celebrations.
• Respect the Property: Help us maintain our property's charm by treating it with care.
* No food is to be left out ever either inside or outside. Being on a lake, food left out will attract insects and may cause issues for both you and us as a result. Trash bags are provided for the length of your stay and all waste should be disposed of properly on a daily basis in the large green trash can on the West side of the main house.
* The grill / griddle is available for your use but, we ask that you please leave it in the same clean condition in which you found it. Otherwise, we will charge a $75.00 additional cleaning fee.
* Please be aware that the internet/WiFi service might experience occasional disruptions or reduced speeds. Unfortunately, refunds or cancellations will not be offered due to interruptions or variations in Internet/WiFi service performance.
* Guests must report any cleaning or maintenance issues immediately and give hosts ample time and access to the home in order to resolve issues. Early check out for any weather, cleaning, maintenance or any other reason without notification does not allow any refunds. We enforce our strict NO REFUNDS policy.
* All guests and their visitors must follow all the FL state regulations and City ordinances as well as our specific rules and terms.
* No tampering, moving, covering, or disconnecting any of the security cameras. You will forfeit your payment in full and we can cancel your remaining reservation without refund if you tamper, move or try to cover any of the exterior cameras. They are used to protect our homes and our property.
* Quite time is from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. This means no loud music, people shouting, or any other loud noise. Please be respectful of the neighbors.
* Boats and RV's are allowed and welcomed but please do not block the street or our neighbor's homes.
* No smoking in or around the home. Guests can smell smoke on furniture, linens, walls, and trash cans. An additional $250 per day cleaning fee will be charged to your reservation if we detect the smell.
* Guests must secure the home and make sure that all doors and windows are locked when they are not in either home.
* Guests wishing to extend their stay must contact the owner first to make sure there are no previous bookings. We are happy to try to work out additional time if needed or additional days with our guests, but you must contact us first.
Hurricane Season Advisory:
Florida’s hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th. If you choose to book during this period, please understand that our strict no-refund policy applies, even in the event of severe weather. We recommend monitoring the weather forecast closely and planning accordingly to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit.
Guest Notice:
To ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible, we kindly ask that you report any issues or concerns within 24 hours of your check-in.
Denying access will be considered a violation of our policies, and as a result, you will be asked to vacate the property with no refund issued. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
* Any house rules that are broken will be grounds for immediate termination/cancellation of reservation with no refunds. The guests will have to leave, and they will forfeit their deposit and all payment for any damages will be required to be paid in full. Failure to leave the property immediately will be considered trespassing.
* If you are a respectful and considerate guest, then you should not worry about any of these rules. Our rules are to make sure that we continue to provide a clean and safe environment not only for our guests but for our great community & neighbors.
