A newly renovated 200 year old Canarian style house combi ning traditional architecture with modern architecture. It overlooks the ocean and a banana field
The owners, a couple of architects, designed an eco home-which collects rainwater for irrigation, the domestic water is heated by the sun, and to avoid use polluting materials. The south facing facade lets you enjoy the greatest number of hours of sunshine a day and the thick walls of the facade Regulate the interior atmosphere comfortably without air conditioning or heating.

Summary: Casa Agueda is well-situated a very short stroll from the beach in this beautiful small village. You can hear the waves crashing as well as the frogs in the next door banana plantation from the house. Jorge has created some very interesting spaces and the house has numerous stylish interior design features. We found the main rooms a little dark at night so perhaps an upgrade of some of the LEDs is in order. Good quality TV with many satellite channels, mostly German. Jorge responded quickly to our few requests. The village itself is gorgeous. Pictures on the internet don't do it justice. It's right on a rocky beach, with many old (C17th) houses and a wonderful cliff path heading towards Puerto Cruz. There's a tiny supermarket with friendly staff, and all three of the restaurants we tried served excellent fish. We particularly liked the upstairs terrace at La Casa de mi Madre, reached by a semi-rock climb of a stairway. We really enjoyed this area of Tenerife with its lush vegetation, friendly locals (no hassling here, unlike the South) and amazing walks. Would come again, both to this area and to Casa Agueda.
