Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The host was excellent even though we never actually met. Prior to our arrival she asked if we would like any shopping done, I said no we should be fine thank you. On arrival there was fresh fruit, water, bread, cheese and cold meat in the fridge which was way beyond our expectations. The property itself proved to be an ideal base for our needs though a car is essential. Again our host offered to help with car hire. Lovely sitting room and well equipped kitchen though we did no cooking at all, opting to eat out. Sitting room comfortable as it was, we barely used as always sat outside. Had a slight problem with the pool filters, informed our host and someone was out to deal with it within the hour. Excellent service. We made good use of the pool, particularly in the mornings then off exploring most afternoons.
Negative: There is only one issue which cannot really be ignored, and that unfortunately involves the local external drains. The downstairs toilet was particularly badly affected with unpleasant odours, so much so that apart from opening windows we avoided using it. This problem is not limited to the Villa itself as near neighbours were noted to leave their front door open a lot when in the house to let air circulate I assume. Did this problem spoil our holiday? No, we coped. We opened windows and doors and spent most of our time outside anyway. Bleach and air fresheners didn’t really help and the problem seemed to come and go.
Summary: We had a wonderful holiday in a comfortable well appointed Villa with superb hosts.
